Objective
A new pedagogical model
As from this project, our school decides to launch a new Pedagogical Model 2.0, handing over a netbook to every student, as the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) Project. [+] In the last two years, we have been increasingly extending the inclusion of computers in teaching, covering not only Natural Sciences, Technology or Maths, but also subjects such as Language, Literature, Social Studies or Art. Educators develop their own virtual teaching materials, which are published in our Virtual Campus, where our students can access at school as well as from home. In the last five years, ORT Argentina has initiated a series of actions towards establishing cooperation and training agreements with other educational institutions, public organisms and Ministries of Education from different provinces of Argentina. At present, we are working with ten primary schools in the city of Buenos Aires, sharing our experience and training teachers in the design and development of virtual learning materials. We have also signed agreements with the Ministries of Education of the Argentinian provinces of Santa Fe, Corrientes and Tucumán, to train all the secondary school teachers who have received netbooks from the National government.

Virtual Teaching Units
Technology
Our project is based in the web 2.0. Each teacher receives an internet connected netbook. The principle of “cloud computing” enables educators to create blogs, wikis, social networks, forums, chat rooms and benefit from their numerous possibilities. Besides, meetings are carried out to interchange ideas and opinions. Technology allows contacting educators from different subject areas and even from different schools. Those teachers who have become expert in using technology in their classes share their experience with other teachers, less acquainted with technology, who are beginning to experience the transformation. Educators build communities in the WEB, to share their teaching experiences. [+] |
